Doing a little ‘throwback Thursday’ – and I went and got out beading projects I had done in years (has it been years?) past – there is a LOT of stuff there!
There is a wooden needle case covered in beads in lavender and white – I never even knew there was such a thing as a needle case – but I liked the shape and thought it would make a lovely pendant! It has long fringes around the bottom and it still pleases me just to look at it!
When I first learned to do peyote stitch – I depended on the designs of others. and this lovely little pouch is one of them – I think the flower depicted is an Iris, and the colors of the beads are used to create shading! The pattern is repeated on the back side of the pouch too. It measures 1 1/8″ wide and almost 1 1/2″ long – a bit large for the kind of pendants I like to wear, so it got set aside
The bracelet is in a different stitch – called Herringbone stitch, which is worked in pairs of beads – the diagonal stripes are of graduated colors of seed beads – a rounder kind of bead than the Delica beads I usually work with. It is 7/8″ wide and is 6 3/4″ long. It has not been finished off at the ends – but maybe someday…..
